Admire the more than 200 paintings by Vicent Van Gogh that cover all his creative periods, you can also see around 400 drawings and works by other artists such as Gauguin, Monet or Milet.
Van Gogh was a mainly self-taught painter, although his works are studied today and exerted great influence on many other artists, his work was only recognized after his death.
Thanks to his younger brother Theo Van Gogh, today we can enjoy much of the works of the Dutch artist at the Van Gogh Museum, one of the three great museums of Amsterdam together with the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk.
The entrance to the museum is a walk through the artistic evolution of Van Gogh in which you can contemplate such recognized paintings as "The Room", "The Sunflowers" or his first great work: "The Potato Eaters".
But this is not all, the wide variety and artistic richness of the museum will allow you to admire works by Claude Monet, Paul Signac, Edouard Manet and other contemporary French artists of Van Gogh, along with the collection of Japanese illustrations, of which both Vicent and Theo were enthusiastic collectors.
Opened every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Fridays until 9:00 p.m.
The price of the ticket includes the audio guide and the access to the entire museum, both temporary and permanent exhibitions (tickets are not cancellable).

The entrance to the museum allows you to take a walk through the life of the Dutch artist. The museum is an introspective of its complete history: the figure of Van Gogh, the context of his works, his personal ambitions, myths and influences.
This journey from his youth to his last days, represented through letters to his brother, drawings he collected, works of other friends and contemporary artists and of course his own paintings. In which he gradually sought light and colour through landscapes centred on nature and Dutch farms.
The museum is divided into three floors:
On this floor, you can see the evolution from the first paintings to the search for light. In those who are shot inspired by natural elements that remain until shortly before his death began to paint more "dark."
Investigations carried out on the artist's own work, as well as on others that have been attributed to him.
Finally, in this part of the museum, you can see a collection of other 19th century artists.
Van Gogh was hoping that his work would inspire the world, he could not see it in life, but through the work of the Van Gogh Museum, this is already a reality. That is why the museum hosts temporary exhibitions of artists who work under the influence of the Dutch painter and, together with the permanent exhibition, impress millions of people each year.
